Nucor Steel- Berkeley’s Beam Division produces 4”-14” hot rolled wide flange shapes (W), standard beams (S), and standard channel (C). The mill is strategically located in the southeastern United States near Charleston, S.C.  Our mill is serviced by two railroads that provide access to raw materials, and provide an economical way for finished goods to reach our customers.  We are also located near three interstate highways; I-20, I-26, and I-95.  These interstates provide convenient access for national trucking lines to ship material to our customers. In order to utilize the nearby Cooper River, we have constructed our own deep-water dock facility.  This port can handle ocean-going barges as large as 575 feet long and 90 feet wide.

Nucor Steel- Berkeley’s Beam Division began casting and rolling material in November of 1998.  The rolling mill has an annual capacity of over 700,000 tons. Our melt shop utilizes the continuous casting process.  This produces a series of semi-finished beam blanks, blooms, or billets; depending on the finished product and its size.  Over time, we have introduced new products to our production schedule to meet the diverse needs of the structural market.  We are committed to providing uncompromising quality, responsive service, and competitive pricing through continuous innovation, modern equipment, dedication to the customer, and concentration on productivity from a highly motivated work force.
